Lodge Roof Repair 2011
In the last 4 or 5 years, there has been some heavy duty winters at Camp Lassen and this year we were especially hit hard. A combination of increased snow load and the unusual freeze/thaw temperatures have created some conditions where damage in the valleys of the Main Lodge Roof is going to have to require spending some time and money to fix things up.
What’s really frustrating, in 1994, the front 1/2 of the lodge roofing was changed to a heavy duty commercial roofing that has held up fine until just a few years ago. And a couple of years ago, we received a donation of some additional heavy duty metal roofing and changed out the valley section by the kitchen and it’s showing signs of stress given the heavy winters.
At this point, we are going to back to the drawing board, do some repairs, find the right solution and make it happen. The most recent labor estimate for a complete change of the roofing just in the valley sections was about $20,000. Repairs to the existing will cost at least several thousand dollars.
Estimated Temporary Repairs Cost: $2000.00
Total Donated: $1500
Donation Goal: $2000
